Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said during a visit to the city Bushehr on Friday that President Barack Obama is an emotional illiterate.
According to Israeli news website Ynet, Ahmadinejad said, “Obama wants to rule the world, but he can’t even control his own emotions.”
Ahmadinejad also reportedly said that Obama “doesn’t even know how to spell his own name properly.” It is unclear whether Iran’s president was objecting to the spelling of “Barack” (rather than “Barak”) or merely insulting Obama’s intelligence.
Bushehr is the location of a disputed Iranian nuclear power plant. Iran is expected to experience a wave of protests against Ahmadinejad’s government following Friday prayers.
