School is for fools: celebrity college dropouts [SLIDESHOW]

We’re filled with a sense of hope every time a major celebrity enrolls at college. Not only do they increase the value of their selected institutions, but they encourage the rest of us to consider higher education. Get good grades in high school, bump into the Olsen twins at New York University! Earn a perfect SAT score and you’ll end up in the same biology class as Emma Watson at Brown University.

But as news outlets revealed earlier this week, Watson is taking a leave of absence from the Providence, Rhode Island university. The final “Harry Potter” installment, in which the British actress will play brainy Hermoine Granger for the last time, is too important for Watson to do half-way. Brown University will be around when the “Harry Potter” series concludes filming, but Watson would rather focus on her movie career before hitting the books.

It’s only fitting to include a list of entertainers who started college to lead normal lives and left within a few years to continue living the Hollywood dream.
