The DC on TV: Talking Libya and Pfc. Bradley Manning

On Monday afternoon, I joined Newsweek’s Jonathan Alter and the Nation’s Ari Berman on MSNBC’s The Dylan Ratigan Show to discuss the situation in Libya, as well as the treatment of Pfc. Bradley Manning.

There is a common thread between both stories.  Both have driven a wedge between Barack Obama and the Left.

While little said here will shock you, we discussed some interesting scenarios, including the possibility that operations in Libya go well. I also made the case that, while I believe Pfc. Manning must be treated humanely, I’m intrigued by people who have made this their cause.  After all, there are a lot of things competing for our emotional attention…

My favorite line? “I share your position but not your passion…”
