Kirstie Alley gets no cheers for fall

This was the night’s heartbreaker. First off, Kirstie’s rumba to “Over the Rainbow” dealt with her mother’s death and her father’s near death at the hands of a drunk driver in 1980, but also the fact she got her first movie role, in Star Trek II, within 72 hours of the tragedy. “The song depicts hopefulness after the despair,” she said. In fact, the routine itself paralleled that combination.

Probably the 1406 lexisnexis hits of ‘kirsty, dancing, and fat’ in news articles. Can’t give you google numbers. most numbers show a perez gal hook ……….. hum.

    Why the ‘fat’ reference?

    • SunnyJ

Possibly because she had a show a few years back with a title with the word “fat” in it. Either way, though, using in this title combined with this incident is low hanging fruit for the “cruel is clever/funny” crowd. Personally, I’m 1/5th her physical size but, wish I had her grace and spirit…and one of the best raucous belly laughs I’ve ever heard.
