In what seems more like a New York City Chamber of Commerce spot than one for the NBC “Nightly News,” host Brian Williams takes a few jabs at the hipster culture.
In a NBC News promo posted on YouTube, Williams suggests what viewers should do when visiting New York City, including hipster watching in the borough of Brooklyn.
“Best people watching: Brooklyn,” Williams said. “And you’re in luck. You happen to be here in New York during a time of year when the hipsters are out. If you want to blend in a little more thoroughly, get yourself a nice thick ironic glass frame, go to one of those Marrakesh-like outdoor artisanal markets. Brooklyn’s a festival this time of year. They’re openly making handmade grilled cheese sandwiches, all kinds of leather goods, tin, silver, it’s like a walk back in time.”
