‘Red Eye’ strikes back: Olbermann a ‘turd,’ ‘undermines Planned Parenthood’

Although Keith Olbermann lost his MSNBC program back in January, the former host of “Countdown” and soon-to-be host on Al Gore’s Current TV, has managed to stay relevant — even if it’s through the use of his Twitter account.

On Wednesday night, Olbermann implied in a post on his Twitter account that he wished conservative commentator S.E. Cupp’s birth had been prevented through the services of Planned Parenthood. And on Thursday night’s “Red Eye” on the Fox News Channel, host Greg Gutfeld sounded off on Cupp’s behalf in his “Gregalogue” segment.

“So, sometimes these things just write themselves,” Gutfeld said. “After watching S.E. Cupp on Joy Behar’ show, that walking fountain of verbal sewage Keith Olbermann decided to tweet, quote, ‘On so many levels she is a perfect example of the necessity of the work Planned Parenthood does.’ Hmm, tasteless you say? I don’t know – if you consider it, Olby’s logic is sound. If abortion would have kept S.E. Cupp from being alive, then there would be less debate over abortion. See how tidy that is for someone like Olby who would rather see you dead than debated? But hey, maybe he didn’t really mean that.”

Gutfeld explained Olbermann’s attempt to backtrack, but didn’t buy it.

“Yet after getting a lot of heat, Olbermann panicked and scurried like a roach from his tweet saying that he meant that as his parents should have taken advantage of the birth control or counseling offered by these clinics and to me it makes no sense as criticism of Cupp, who he hates unless Olby means birth control would have prevented S.E. from being born,” Gutfeld said.

But for his “ghoulish” attempt at humor, the “Red Eye” host condemned Olbermann and explained this confirms suspicions about his character.

“But really all undermines Planned Parenthood, not Olby,” Gutfeld said. “We already knew he is a turd. When he brought up Planned Parenthood, everybody knew he meant abortions. So his ghoulish joke reminds everyone that Planned Parenthood means more than abortion is a fatuous joke, like the man himself. If you disagree with me, you sir are a racist homophobe.”
