Redheaded “Confessions of a Shopaholic” star Isla Fisher is in negotiations to join the cast of Baz Lurhmann’s 3D adaptation of “The Great Gatsby,” reports the Hollywood Reporter.

The film, made by Warner Bros., will include “Shutter Island” actor Leonardo DiCaprio, “Spider-Man” star Tobey Maguire, and “An Education” actress Carey Mulligan. “The Town” director Ben Affleck is also in talks to join the movie.

Fisher will portray Myrtle, a married woman who has an affair with the rich Tom Buchanan, whom Affleck will play if he partakes in the production. DiCaprio will take on the role of mysterious, wealthy Jay Gatsby and Maguire is going to portray the book’s narrator, Nick Carraway. According to the Huffington Post, Mulligan will play Buchanan’s wife, Daisy. HuffPo added that Mulligan got the part in spite of rumors that it would go to “Gossip Girl” starlet Blake Lively, “He’s Just Not That Into You” actress Scarlett Johansson, or “Pirates of the Caribbean” star Keira Knightley.

Fisher had a speaking role in the newly released animated film “Rango” and came into the limelight in 2005 for her part as the kooky red-haired “stage five clinger” in “Wedding Crashers.” Fisher also starred in “Definitely Maybe” and “I Heart Huckabees.”

Luhrmann said in February that the flick will be shot in Australia.
