Hollywood stars like Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen aren’t known for their political involvement, but they demonstrated pride for the U.S. upon learning of UBL’s killing. Professional train-wreck and former “Two and a Half Men” actor Charlie Sheen made use of his “winning” catchphrase to express his relief about Sunday’s news regarding UBL. “Dead or Alive. WE PREFER DEAD! Well done SEAL team! AMERICA: #WINNING that’s how we roll…. c,” Sheen tweeted on Monday.
Former playmate Holly Madison tweeted on Sunday that she wanted more details on the situation, “Wow! I can’t wait to hear how they found Bin Laden! I need some NEWS backstage!”
Meanwhile, Madison’s former boyfriend Hugh Hefner partied it up at his infamous Playboy mansion. Early Monday morning, the skin magazine owner tweeted, “Celebrating at the Mansion with the news of the death of Osama Bin Laden. Will this end terrorist attacks or increase them?”
“American Beauty” actress Mena Suvari didn’t mince words on UBL’s fate, having tweeted, “Karma’s a bitch; and sometimes a bullet in the head #binladendead.”
Rachel Uchitel, who lost her fiance Andy O’Grady on 9/11 and reportedly hooked up with golfer Tiger Woods in 2009, told TMZ on Sunday that justice had been served.
“This is the biggest news we have received as a country in almost 10 years. Now we Americans finally have justice and maybe we can all sleep just a bit better at night,” Uchitel said. “Andy would be so honored to know he’s part of history as an American hero for his sacrifice on that day. Grammy Award winner Lada Gaga tweeted late Sunday evening that the U.S was tackling hatred before her eyes, “Just landed. Watching CNN, what a historical moment in the fight against hatred.”
British television host Piers Morgan was just as delighted about this victory as U.S. citizens, having tweeted on Sunday, “Kudos to the Navy Seals who planned and executed this extraordinary mission. One of the great covert operations in modern military history.”
