Christie says he may support Daniels for GOP nomination

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, who’s met with potential Republican presidential candidates seeking his backing, said he would give “real consideration” to supporting Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels.

Daniels, a former budget director under President George W. Bush, told Bloomberg’s Al Hunt on May 6 that he would announce whether he is running within weeks.

“He’s certainly somebody who I have enormous respect for and would give real consideration to supporting,” Christie said today on CBS Corp.’s 1210 WPHT, a Philadelphia news-talk station.

Well the one’s we don’t want leading the Republic are coming out of the established guard….Daniels is not even a consideration and I have heard all I want to from Christie…he needs to concentrate on the people of New Jersey…our nominee must come from the grass roots Tea Party movement…we cannot and will not allow the good ole boys to come up with another loser…our Liberty & Freedoms of our children and granchildren are counting on us…WE THE PEOPLE will decide our leaders from here on out…in 2012 we will drain the swamp…bipartisanship is not what our next leader will seek,

I like Daniels. He’d probably be my third favorite pick after Ron Paul and Gary Johnson. Definitely my favorite of the “mainstream” types.

I’ve never gone for charisma anyway, the fact that he doesn’t have it may hurt him in the general election but it doesn’t bother me.

I would encourage people who haven’t heard Daniels before, or are skeptical about him, to listen to his CPAC speech and the introduction George Will gave him. It’s pretty fantastic.

kr…Obama makes great speeches, too. Daniels compared to your other 2 favs is POLAR opposites. He’s no conservative. If it came down to those 3 you have listed…I’d go for the other 2. Daniels was high on my list, too, until I looked beyond his name. It didn’t take more than 5 minutes to change my mind on him, either.

Goodness. Polar opposites? The man is trying to make the state of Indiana the first state in the nation to give every kid a school voucher rather than relying on state-run soviet-style schools. His state now has the fewest state employees per capita of any state in the country, and the fewest in it’s history since 1978.

For the record, his speeches aren’t good because they are charismatic, they are good because of the substance.
