Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels received 16 stitches Friday following a wound to his forehead

According to the Governor’s office, the accident occurred at the National Institute for Fitness and Sport in Indianapolis. The governor had just finished working at approximately 1:30 pm, and “he was standing near a door. The door suddenly swung open and struck the governor in the forehead.”

The press release says the Governor was taken to Methodist Hospital by his security detail. He received 16 stitches in his forehead, after which he was “released and is recovering at home.”

This is Gov. Daniels’ second trip to the hospital in recent months. He received surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff in February.
