“Forgetting Sarah Marshall” actor Jason Segel and “Julie and Julia” star Amy Adams combined forces for a new joke video for “The Muppets.” The spoof trailer, titled “Green With Envy,” debuted over the weekend to promote “The Muppets,” an upcoming Disney comedy.

The “Green With Envy” preview shows Adams leaving Segel after he’s forgotten their anniversary. The ad, which is a minute long, was made to prepare audience members for the next “Muppets” adaptation. After about 60 seconds, Segel glances at the camera and says, “Wait, wait, wait stop. Are there Muppets in this movie?” indicating that the entire trailer isn’t indicative of what the future flick entails.

“The Muppets” is slated for a November 23 theatrical release. According to the Los Angeles Times, the film shows best buddies Gary (played by Jason Segel) and Walter, a staunch fan of Kermit and the gang, go from Smalltown, USA to Tinseltown to see the old Muppet Theater, which has fallen into disrepair after years of abandonment. After they hear Tex Richman (portrayed by Chris Cooper) explain his secret plan to shut down the area for oil drilling, Gary, Walter, and Gary’s significant other Mary (played by Amy Adams) choose to save the historic spot and get the Muppets back together.

“Walter’s like me when I was a kid,” Segel said. “His dream has always been to meet the Muppets because they’re the only people in the world he’s ever seen that are like him. … It was neat to create such an innocent character, he’s pure and naive.”
