Pop sensation Katy Perry, who was heavily criticized last year for wearing a low-cut green top during her “Sesame Street” appearance, has returned to children’s television — sort of. The 26-year-old’s hit single “California Gurls” has just been parodied on an animated series called “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.”

The show, which airs on the Hub network, features colorful horses, ponies, and unicorns in the land of Equestria chanting their own version of Perry’s popular 2010 tune, which dominated the chart’s last year.

“There is a place where the grass is what’s for dinner,” sings one animal, echoing Perry’s lyrics, “I know a place where the grass is really greener.”

While the television program keeps some of Perry’s lyrics such as “there must be something in the water,” it eliminates her alcohol references. In place of Perry’s “sipping gin and juice,” the kid’s series has the pony sing, “sipping rainbow juice” for “Equestria Girls.”

Always a hot topic in celebrity news, Perry most recently made headlines for ranting on Twitter about spouse Russell Brand getting deported in Japan for things he’d done ten years ago.

“So…my husband just got deported from Japan. I am so. sad. I brought him all this way to show him my favorite place #tokyodreamscrushed,” Perry tweeted last week.
