Syrian government loyalists attack U.S. embassy in Damascaus

DAMASCUS, Syria — US Marines were forced to intervene Monday after a crowd of protesters loyal to President Bashar al Assad broke into the grounds of the US embassy in the Syrian capital Damascus.

A crowd of protesters breached the walls of the compound but were unable to enter the embassy building itself after US Marines intervened, FOX News Channel reported, citing a State Department spokesman.

The US and French ambassadors angered the Syrian regime last week when they visited the flashpoint city of Hama, scene of some of the biggest protests against Assad’s rule.

The United States Marine Security Guards “intervened”? What does that mean? A whole lot left unsaid. Most days the US State Department hold the Devil Dogs at bay, not allowing then to do what they can do so well. It may have something to do with the Ambassador who appears to have the guts to do what needs to be done. More questions and better information on this incident please
