One of the most endearing aspects of the “Harry Potter” franchise has been the opportunity for viewers to watch their beloved characters grow up, both on and off screen.

Fans have watched the film’s stars — Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint — not only grow as wizards, but also as actors. The final installment of the series, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,” premieres this weekend, and although it marks the end of an era for these young actors, it begins the next phase of their undoubtedly bright careers.

The 21-year-old Emma Watson, who portrayed the adorable Hermione in all seven “Harry Potter” flicks, plans to continue her film career while pursuing her college degree this fall.

The studious actress, who has already spent two years studying at Brown University, announced yesterday that she plans to spend her third year studying English at Oxford University’s Worcester College. Although Watson was rumored to have dropped out of Brown due to incessant heckling and teasing last year, she put those rumors to rest and said she’s still enrolled at Brown, and will be attending Oxford through a study-abroad program in September.

“I’m going to Oxford in the fall, to study English for a year,” she told reporters Monday. “Just to explain, I haven’t left Brown. I’m still enrolled at Brown, but I’m doing my third year abroad to study — at home.”

She might be hitting the books, but the ambitious starlet has no plans to take a break from the big screen. This fall, actress will star alongside an A-list cast including Michelle Williams and Kenneth Branagh in the upcoming drama, “My Week with Marilyn.” Additionally, Watson will spend the remainder of the summer shooting the highly-anticipated big screen adaptation of the novel,”The Perks of Being a Wallflower,” which hits theaters early next year.
