Like a wannabe princess, “Terminator” actress Linda Hamilton just wants to be invited to a ball.

Rather than wait and see whether a charming fellow will sweep her off her feet, Hamilton took matters into her own hands Tuesday, when she posted a YouTube video asking Sgt. Ray Lewis if she could be his date to the upcoming Marine Corps Ball.

“Rumor has it that you like your actresses vintage,” Hamilton said, alluding to Lewis’s initial invitation to Betty White. “So I thought I would just take a shot here and try to find you.”

Sporting shades, the actress quipped, “We’ll leave the shades on because…my eyes are puffy from crying all night…It was just a terrible night thinking about you and this situation.”

Aware that she’s “no Betty White,” Hamilton acknowledged that she wouldn’t be the military man’s first choice.

“Look, I know that I am no Betty White, but I would be really, really thrilled — if you can’t find anybody else, and I know that’s unlikely, but if you can’t find anybody else, to go to the ball with you,” Hamilton said. “I could go!” (Mila Kunis insists she will keep date with Marine)

In her final moments of desperation, Hamilton said, “I am only half as ‘mature’ as [Betty White] is…but I am twice as funny! So I think that works out. I don’t want to get pitiful, so I’m going to go now. But please take me to the ball! Please, please, Ray! Call me.”

Last week, Lewis asked White to the prestigious event, but the “Golden Girls” star told Access Hollywood that she couldn’t go due to scheduling conflicts. Less than a week earlier, “Friends with Benefits” cast members Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake were invited to attend various Marine Corps Balls this November.
