Everybody saw it coming.
Jesse James, who famously cheated on his Academy Award-winning ex-wife Sandra Bullock last year, has ended his engagement to tattoo artist Kat Von D. (Jesse James: ‘I can’t worry about [Sandra Bullock] anymore…it’s time to worry about Jesse’)
“I am no longer w Jesse, and out of respect for him, his family and myself, thats all the info I’d like to share. Thanks for respecting that,” Kat Von D tweeted late Monday evening.
James said the long distance relationship took a toll on the engagement, as Kat shoots her TLC reality show “LA Ink” in California, while James resides in Texas with his kids.
“I’m so sad because I really love her,” James told People magazine. “The distance between us was just too much.”
It comes as no surprise that the couple didn’t last. The “American Outlaw” author, who got engaged to Kat Von D six months ago, made headlines in early 2010 for reportedly sleeping with tattoo model Michelle “Bombshell” McGee for nearly a year while married to Bullock. Though James claimed he was never fully invested in his marriage with the “Blind Side” actress, he told ABC earlier this year that he was certain he wouldn’t be unfaithful to Kat Von D.
Last month, James blasted rumors that his engagement to Kat Von D had ended.
“Everything is on track,” James told People magazine. “I am absolutely more in love today than I was a year ago. She’s the one for me.”
Earlier this year, James said he couldn’t wait to make his life with Kat Von D, adding that scandal-heavy 2010 was actually the greatest year of his life.
“This is one of those times. 2010 was actually the best year of my life because I fell in love with my best friend,” James said. “I have never met anyone so kind and loving and committed to making the world a better place every day. My love for her is beyond description. So honored that she said ‘yes.’ Growing old with her is going to be a f—in’ blast!”
