With small but notable roles in films like “Atonement,” “Year One,” and “The Other Boleyn Girl” under her belt, British actress Juno Temple takes the lead in the upcoming indie comedy “Dirty Girl,” which hits theaters August 5.

In “Dirty Girl,” set in 1987 Oklahoma, Temple plays super sexual Danielle, an outcast who seems to wear too much makeup and not enough clothes for her conservative small town. Danielle and her gay best friend Clarke (played by Jeremy Dozier) set off on a road trip to find Danielle’s father, who abandoned her mom several years earlier.

Up next for Temple are appearances in “The Three Musketeers” and “The Dark Knight Rises,” and  a supporting role alongside Mathew McConaughey and Emile Hirsch in the upcoming “Killer Joe.” She will also star in an indie lesbian werewolf drama titled “Jack & Diane,” which will debut in 2012.

Take a look at some of our favorite pics of this “Dirty Girl.”
