Not all singing children are annoying.

Pop legend Britney Spears’ 3-year-old niece, Maddie Briann Aldridge, might be following in her famous aunt’s footsteps, as the precious toddler chanted Spears’ latest hit, “Up N’Down” on YouTube last week. (Ke$ha wants to skinny dip with Britney Spears)

Britney, whose 20-year-old sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, gave birth to Maddie in 2008, tweeted a video Friday of the mini songstress-in-training.

“OMG! Check out my niece Maddie covering Aunt Britney’s Up N Down. Sooooo adorable!” Britney tweeted, linking to the video of Maddie’s adorable karaoke session.

Though it is more than a little disturbing to hear a child spout the words, “the room got sexy,” Maddie maintained her innocence by clutching a Barbie doll throughout her rendition and botching some of Britney’s lyrics.

Instead of singing, “I know you want me like kids want candy,” young Maddie went with, “I know that kids want candy.”

In December 2007, Jamie Lynn announced her pregnancy, which instantly made her an easy media target. At the time, she starred on the Nickelodeon sitcom “Zoey 101,” which ended several months after she told the world she had a baby on the way.
