Former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was spotted this weekend wearing a shirt that was less than flattering to estranged wife Maria Shriver.

While biking in Santa Monica, TMZ reported, Schwarzenegger sported a white t-shirt with the words “It’s time” on the front and “I survived Maria” across the back.

The California first lady’s staff created the shirts at the end of Schwarzenegger’s time in office, according to TMZ. The shirts read “2007-2010,” the length of the governor’s term in office, but Shriver’s staff presented him with one where 2007 had been crossed out with 1977 written above it, representing the length of their relationship.

Shriver separated from Schwarzenegger after 25 years of marriage this May when it was revealed that he had fathered a child with the couple’s former housekeeper. She filed for divorce on July 1, citing irreconcilable differences.

As the couple has repeatedly said that they are on good terms and the divorce is proceeding smoothly, Schwarzenegger’s fashion statement was likely in good-natured jest. But he still attracted attention, with critics questioning whether the shirt was the wisest move so soon after betraying his wife.
