Maybe the best thing about Twitter is reading tweets from people who haven’t the slightest idea about anything political.
Thursday night, following the Republican presidential primary debate in Ames, Iowa, rapper Vanilla Ice took to Twitter to share his thoughts.
“What did you guys think of the GOP candidates ???” Vanilla Ice, whose real name is Robert Van Winkle, tweeted Thursday. Of the candidates at the debate, Van Winkle liked former Godfather’s Pizza CEO Herman Cain the most. “I was impressed with Cain in the debate ? But not really convinced yet by anyone ??? 15 months to go ???” he went on.
Van Winkle isn’t really known for his political acumen, which he acknowledged on his Twitter feed. “I just wish someone could fix this mess of economy ???”
Ultimately, the rapper concluded that what America really needs is a problem solver, quoting his biggest hit, “Ice Ice Baby.”
“We need a candidate to stand up and say ‘ if there is a problem , YO I’ll solve it ‘ LOL ! And really do it ! Sometimes I crack myself up.”
“We totally agree with you, Vanilla,” the team at Glittarazi wrote. The website archived the tweets early Friday morning.
Cain’s spokeswoman, Ellen Carmichael, said that she told Cain about his newest supporter. “His reaction was priceless.”
