Next month President Obama will give a speech that is expected to detail his plan for avoiding a double-dip recession. Details remain uncertain. But conservative columnist Ann Coulter says solving the jobs component of America’s economic problem could have an easy fix.

On Tuesday’s “The Kudlow Report” on CNBC, the author of “Demonic: How the Liberal Mob Is Endangering America” made her not-so-likely-to-happen recommendations.

“It’s just these elitists figuring out this is how we’ll do it and we’ll run it from the federal government,” Coulter said. “Just to vacuum up all of these government regulations — starting with ObamaCare I might add — we’ll skip enforcing Indian law against a productive American company. How about ObamaCare with the 200,000 pages of regulations?

“How about we do this: repeal minimum wage, repeal unemployment insurance, have no more immigration — I haven’t finished. You’re not going to, neither of you are going to like this part. No more immigration, legal or otherwise, of low-wage workers.”

“We’ll have high school kids working,” she gushed. “We’ll have people who have never worked before. It is a fantastic idea.”

James Freeman, assistant editor of The Wall Street Journal’s editorial page, doubted the merits of Coulter’s suggestion.

“That’s not an economic plan,” Freeman said. “I understand there are a lot of people who want to do that, but that has nothing to do with economics.”

Coulter countered by explaining that hers wasn’t an economic plan. Instead, she said, it was a fix for the rising unemployment and a lack of jobs facing the country.

“Not being an economic answer, it’s a jobs answer,” she said. “No minimum wage, no unemployment insurance.”
