Here’s the new GOP line being tested out by at least two presidential campaigns: President Obama just doesn’t have a clue.

“I don’t happen to think Barack Obama’s a bad guy,” former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney said to a crowd in New Hampshire on Monday. “I just don’t think he has a clue.”

Continuing, Romney said, “Having never worked in the private sector, never having had a real job it’s not a surprise he doesn’t know how to create a real job.”

Likewise on Monday, another candidate, businessman Herman Cain, made a similar jab at Obama. In a television interview on Fox News, Cain said the problem isn’t the president “doesn’t care” about the poor economy.

“He just doesn’t have a clue,” Cain said.

It’s not the first time Romney and Cain have used the same argument. Both often boast that, unlike others in the race, they have spent most of their career in the private sector. (RELATED: Cain, Romney, others grilled by conservative bigwigs at forum)

“Herman Cain and I are the two on the stage here who’ve actually worked in the real economy,” Romney said during a debate at Iowa State University last month.

“If people want to send to Washington someone who spent their entire career in government, they can choose a lot of folks,” Romney said at the Fox News-sponsored event. “But if they want to choose somebody who understands how the private sector works, they’re going to have to choose one of us, because we’ve been in it during our career.”
