Meghan McCain backs Romney

If dad can’t be president, you have to choose the next best thing.

Daily Beast columnist Meghan McCain seems to be taking this approach. According to Politico, as a panelist for Glamour magazine’s discussion for twenty-somethings at Barnard College, the daughter of former Republican presidential candidate John McCain recently reiterated her support for Mitt Romney.

“I think the idea of a Romney president, as much as it will probably piss off everyone in this room, is a lot more feasible than you think with Obama’s numbers right now,” Meghan McCain said.

Though she has hope for Romney, the “Dirty Sexy Politics” author isn’t totally sure about Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, another presidential candidate.

“The thing about politics is it’s not over till it’s over, but I don’t think Michele Bachmann is going to be the nominee,” Meghan McCain said.

The Columbia University graduate made similar comments about Romney earlier this year, when she told the Marietta Daily Journal that Romney would be superior to former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. (RELATED: Meghan McCain to pen book with Michael Ian Black)

“My personal favorite right now is Mitt Romney,” Meghan McCain said. “I like that he’s not so radical. I like that he has really, really played his cards right, almost perfectly since the last election.”

Meghan McCain went beyond politics at the Barnard conference, where she also advised peers: “You come home drunk, you’re writing on your boyfriend’s Facebook page, you’re angry or whatever. I mean I’ve seen it happen…NO DRUNK TWEETING!”
