‘Occupy DC’ protesters get tips from a pro

Disgruntled protesters descended on Washington, D.C. Thursday to protest practically everything. And since so many of them said they hadn’t been involved in a protest before, The Daily Caller found them some professional advice.

Concepcion Picciotto has been camped out in front of the White House in the exact same spot every day for 20 years. She began her “peace vigil” as a 1981 anti-nuclear protest and hasn’t left since.

Every day, rain or shine, Picciotto hands out flyers and books on Pennsylvania Avenue, preaching to passersby and arguing with those who see the world differently.

And her advice? Picciotto told TheDC that today’s protesters need to be prepared to make sacrifices for their causes.

“If you want to achieve something in life, you have to sacrifice something,” she said. “You can not achieve it by one day, you come here … and go back home, watching TV and keeping business as usual. No.”
