HENNIKER, N.H. — Presidential candidate Michele Bachmann, the Minnesota congresswoman, told reporters after a town hall meeting Monday morning that embattled Attorney General Eric Holder should resign if the full story of Operation Fast and Furious confirms the facts already presented to the public and to congressional investigators.

“This is an extremely serious set of facts that we’re looking at,” Bachmann said when The Daily Caller asked if Holder should resign.

“There needs to be a full investigation. And surely he should resign … if the facts prove to be what they appear to be.”

Bachmann was in Henniker, N.H., speaking at a town hall event at New England College.

The congresswoman also tied Holder’s job performance related to Fast and Furious to his other policy decisions that she said constituted a failure to uphold the Defense Of Marriage Act (DOMA) and other federal laws.

“I think that this is a very serious situation,” she explained. “We’ve seen the attorney general before flout the law, where he said that he is unwilling to uphold the DOMA law, for instance, and he and the president said they don’t want to uphold immigration law.”

During Bachmann’s town hall appearance she castigated President Obama, who she said “came out in support of the $700 billion bailout of Wall Street.” She also criticized the “Occupy Wall Street” protesters, saying that “they should go in front of the White House. That’s where they should be protesting.”

The Daily Caller reported Monday morning that Obama has received more financial support from Wall Street than any other politician in the past two decades, including former president George W. Bush.  In 2008, Wall Street’s largesse accounted for 20 percent of Obama’s fundraising total.
