Report: Bachmann meets with Trump for a third time

Low in the polls, but still hot on the campaign trail, GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann met with Donald Trump Thursday morning for the third time.

The pair reportedly met in Trump Tower at 8:00 a.m.

Trump special counsel Michael Cohen told NBC’s Gina Gentilesco that Bachmann sought out Trump for the meeting.

“Mrs. Bachmann requested the meeting, and the two will have breakfast at Mr. Trump’s private residence at Trump Tower. As to the nature, I suspect it is to discuss policies espoused by Mr. Trump that are resonating with frustrated Americans, as well as his possible endorsement, which many believe is necessary to obtain the GOP nomination.”

After considering a presidential run himself, Trump has made a place for himself as a Republican kingmaker this primary season, meeting with Herman Cain, Mitt Romney, Rick Perry and, prior to her decision not to run, Sarah Palin.

Following his first meeting with Bachmann in July, Trump said that he “was very impressed with her” and saw her as an “underrated person.”
