Barack Obama may have received an endorsement from Khloe Kardashian last year, but the feeling isn’t mutual. This week Michelle Obama revealed her husband’s dislike of the Kardashians and his request that their daughters avoid watching reality supershow “Keeping up with the Kardashians.”
“Barack really thinks some of the Kardashians — when they watch that stuff — he doesn’t like that as much,” the first lady told iVillage this week.
Sasha and Malia Obama are kept on a relatively tight TV leash, she told a group discussion about motherhood and the anti-obesity campaign, “Let’s Move.”
Though the first lady is more lenient than her husband, their daughters are only allowed minimal television hours during the week. She tries to monitor what they are watching, she said, so they learn something and take away the right message.
“I sort of feel like if we’re talking about it, and I’m more concerned with how they take it in –What did you learn when you watched that?” Mrs. Obama asked rhetorically. “And if they’re learning the right lessons, like ‘that was crazy,’ then I’m, like, OK,” she added.
She also said of her daughters: “They’re terrific girls … They’re poised, and they’re kind, and they’re curious.”
