Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid labeled Senate Republicans “poor folks” and “puppets” who are being led by “their leader,” Americans for Tax Reform President Grover Norquist, in opposition to a tax increase on millionaires to pay for the Democrats’ stimulus package.

Reid also said on Tuesday at the Capitol that the GOP has made it “impossible” to pass the $35 billion bill, originally part of the president’s $447 billion jobs plan, which would give states federal funds to hire more public safety employees and teachers.
