President Obama took to the links in Hawaii on Monday with an old golf buddy who pled no contest in May to the charge of soliciting a prostitute, said a White House pool report.
“The president’s fourball at the Mamala Bay Golf Course includes his long-time friend Robert ‘Bobby’ Titcomb,” the report read, “who was arrested and plead [sic] no contest in May to soliciting a prostitute, Marvin Nicholson, and White House advance man Pete Selfridge.”
Obama and Titcomb were classmates at the Oahu preparatory school Punahou during the 1970s, and have been friends and golf partners since then, reports Hawaii News Now. When vacationing in Hawaii, Obama often plays golf and basketball and dines with Titcomb, frequently visiting his home on the north shore of Oahu.
In an April sting, Titcomb was nabbed by the police when he tried to pick up an undercover officer.
Titcomb was fined $500 after pleading no contest, and the conviction was expunged from his record after six months. His lawyer said while he disagreed with the criminal case against him, he pled no contest to take responsibility for his actions.
