Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is about as squeaky clean as politicians come, but admits in an upcoming profile in People Magazine that he knows what beer and cigarettes taste like.

“I tasted a beer and tried a cigarette once, as a wayward teenager, and never did it again,” he said.

Romney, a Mormon, has said he doesn’t drink or smoke for religious reasons.
