Insulting a woman in front of the whole world is an outrage, except when it isn’t

As we all know, this weekend Michelle Obama went to a NASCAR race for whatever reason, and when they announced her name, the crowd booed her. Which makes me cringe. Whatever you think of her, and however she and her husband have openly scorned the very same people she was then pandering to, she’s still the First Lady. Show some respect, guys. What are you, bloggers? But hey, it was a big crowd. It’s not like it was premeditated. It’s not like we have a list of names. (Unless, of course, Janet Napolitano is compiling a list of names.) What are you gonna do, fire a paying crowd?

Then, late last night on something called the “National Broadcasting Company,” this happened:

(Courtesy of the Stage Right Show, at least until NBC makes them take it down.)

And yes, it was absolutely intentional. Questlove even tweeted about it beforehand.

So let’s recap:

NASCAR fans spontaneously booing Michelle Obama: BAD.

TV stars planning in advance to call Michele Bachmann a bitch: GOOD.

Keep it straight, people.

P.S. To Fallon’s credit:

It’s one thing to say it on Twitter, though. We’ll see what they say about it on the air. (And when I say “we,” I mean “you,” ’cause I ain’t watchin’ that crap.)

P.P.S. “They’re two-faced liars.”

P.P.P.S. Questlove tells the Hollywood Reporter, “I feel bad if her feelings were hurt. That was not my intention.” What else could his intention be? Congratulations, Questlove: It takes a lyin’ ass bitch to know one.
