Outgoing Massachusetts Democratic Rep. Barney Frank predicted Tuesday that Democrats will regain control of the House of Representatives if former House Speaker Newt Gingrich becomes the Republican 2012 presidential nominee.

“You guys ask us questions sometimes, you know, we’re not going to give you a straight answer,” Frank said at the Capitol during a press conference about his retirement from Congress.
“Oh yeah, we’re going to win. Oh yeah. The answer is, I don’t know. I don’t think anybody knows. It depends. If Newt Gingrich can be the nominee, then we win it back.”
