‘Community’ fans plan flash mob at 30 Rock

Never mind Occupy Wall Street, “Community” fans are ready to occupy Rockefeller Center on Thursday afternoon – at least for a few tongue-in-cheek Christmas carols – to protest NBC’s treatment of their beloved sitcom.

NBC left the show, which stars Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Donald Glover and Chevy Chase, off the network’s midseason schedule after the first 10 episodes of the third season averaged just 3.6 million viewers. Among them are loyalists who are taking to Twitter and Facebook (#SaveCommunity and #OccupyNBC) to organize a flash mob to show support for the show Thursday at 1 p.m. outside the network’s headquarters.
