Occupiers from around the country descended on Washington, D.C. on Tuesday for a day of action. The organizers of the event were expecting over 1,000 protesters to attend “Occupy Congress.” Turnout was lower than expected, with only a few hundred protesters in attendance.
The protesters spent much of the day chanting “Fuck the police” and taking out their frustrations in the political system on Capitol Hill Police.
Police officers barricaded parts of the Congressional office building in order to prevent protesters from getting on the balcony. ‘Occupy’ protesters jumped over the barricades and eventually entered into the congressional buildings. They made sure to remind their fellow protesters to “get your weed off you” before entering.
