They had me at “Osombie”

This is not one of those fake trailers for movies that don’t really exist, like in Grindhouse. Apparently the following flick is completed, except for some post-production stuff they’re now raising money for:

I don’t recognize anybody in it, although IMDb says the main guy with the abs previously played Apollo in Immortals. Like I said, I don’t recognize anybody in it.

IMDb doesn’t say who’s playing undead Bin Laden, but this reminds me of the last time he was played for laughs in a dopey no-budget action flick. In 2007’s Postal, directed by infamous schlockmeister Uwe Boll and based (sorta) on the video game of the same name, Osama was portrayed by Larry Thomas:

Who’s Larry Thomas? You know who Larry Thomas is. You saw him again just the other day. Don’t you remember? Come on, you remember:

After that, Bin Laden was the obvious next step. Anyway, Postal is the only Uwe Boll movie I’ve ever seen, so I don’t know where it fits in his canon of awfulness. I thought it was stupid and bewildering and incredibly tasteless, and it gave me no reason to ever see another of Boll’s films, but it was never boring.

So there’s precedent, at least. If these guys actually show Bin Laden getting killed onscreen, even if he’s technically dead already, all the better. Just say when, Osombie. Just say when.
