It seems like just the other day that I penned this warning to Mitt Romney: “While the center-right media intelligentsia were more than happy to help destroy the “unserious” candidates such as Rick Perry and Newt Gingrich (and others), they generally like [Rick] Santorum.”

Almost like clockwork, National Review is out with a predictably pro-Santorum editorial, simply titled, “Santorum’s turn.”

In it, NR’s editors praise Newt Gingrich’s “verbal and intellectual talents,” but also call on him to “endorse Santorum and exit.”

(This modest request might carry more weight had NR not already rendered their verdict on Gingrich’s candidacy months ago.)
