Jay Carney: Republicans forced Obama to turn down Keystone XL, which he didn’t do
Here’s yesterday’s White House press briefing. You can safely skip to around the 9-minute mark:
What’s that, Jay Carney?
Carney, 9:42 — “Because Republicans decided to play politics with Keystone, their action essentially forced the administration to deny the permit process, because they insisted on a time frame within which it was impossible to appropriately approve the pipeline.”
Carney, 13:40 — “But the president didn’t turn down the Keystone pipeline.”
So: Obama was forced by Republicans to do the thing for which he’s being criticized. Which he didn’t actually do. It’s not his fault because they made him do it, and by the way, he didn’t do it. Bart Simpson would be proud.
Obama will say whatever he needs to say in order to get through the next five minutes. Carney’s got it down to less than four.
Neil Munro has more on these Orwellian creeps.
P.S. The only people using high gas prices as a political weapon are Republicans in 2012 and Obama in 2008.
P.P.S. Hey, wait a minute… Aren’t High Gas Prices What Democrats Want?
