This weekend a burglar got more than he bargained for when he had a coffee mug smashed on his head.
Just before noon on Saturday, the crook broke into a southwestern Pennsylvania resident’s home and pulled out a knife. In the ensuing struggle, the homeowner administered a dose of street justice and split the burglar’s head open with his ceramic coffee mug.
The knife-wielding intruder then scampered off before police could arrive. The gash, however, may prove helpful in catching the felon, thought to be in his 30s or 40s.
Detective John Bruner told The Observer-Reporter that he believes the criminal was looking for jewelry and other items to be pawned for drug money.
