Ann Romney thanks Kid Rock after Michigan primary victory

It is perhaps the last phrase anyone would expect to come from the mouth of Mitt Romney’s wife: “Thank you, Kid Rock!”

Politics has always made for strange bedfellows, but this coupling appears particularly bizarre. Ann Romney is the doting, clean-cut Mormon wife of a GOP candidate. Kid Rock, on the other hand, was once engaged to Playboy cover girl Pamela Anderson and thanks “all my heroes in the Methadone Clinic” in one of his songs.

Ann also thanked many other Romney supporters after his victory in the Arizona and Michigan primaries Tuesday night, including reality show host Donald Trump.

The night before, Rock performed his hit song “Born Free” at a Romney rally after the candidate went to the singer’s Detroit home and personally asked him to perform. (RELATED: Kid Rock endorses Mitt Romney [VIDEO])

The rocker had plenty of questions for the GOP candidate before he agreed to endorse the candidate.

“He’d written down some questions for me,” Romney told ABC. “He said first of all, he said, ‘Mitt, if you’re elected president, will you help me help the state of Michigan?’ And I said I would.”
