Ann Coulter tells The Daily Caller that the United States should “do more” to help resolve the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Syria.

Forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, a key Iranian ally, have killed thousands of demonstrators in the country since armed protests against the regime erupted last spring. The ongoing violence has led to calls for the United States and its allies to intervene, although Coulter said such an operation is unlikely so long as Obama remains in office.

When asked to comment on the Administration’s policy towards Syria, Coulter said that she would “do more than what we are doing now, but [Obama] won’t do anything because it would be good to topple the Assad regime.”

“The Obama Administration’s policy is we will send troops only if it does not serve America’s national defense interest,” she continued.
