Quick, somebody say solar power is for sluts!

Obama could use yet another distraction from yet another piece of bad news. Washington Times:

As gasoline prices continue to rise and keep the heat on President Obama’s energy policies, critics also are accusing the president of shifting support away from the coal industry, a major source of fuel and jobs in several battleground states, including Colorado, Michigan and Ohio.

Lawmakers on both sides of the partisan aisle say Obama administration environmental regulations aimed at cutting greenhouse gas emissions are poised to hit jobs and consumers harder than the Keystone XL decision at the same time the president seems to have abandoned his stated support for the coal industry and clean-coal technology.

Fewer jobs, higher energy prices. Other than that, I’m not sure I see the problem. Tough luck, anthracite-huggers.

Who could’ve predicted higher energy prices under an Obama administration? Er…

Guess you’ll just have to find another way to charge up your Chevy Volt. Oh, that’s right, you don’t own one. Nobody does. So much for that idea. Well, they’re workin’ on those algaemobiles, those should be coming along any decade now. Or, I dunno, human-sized wind-up cars, that could be doable. And hey, what was wrong with the horse and buggy anyway?

Of course, all of this only matters if you’re more concerned with unemployment and the economy than you are with helping Obama feel good about himself.
