Despite Kobe Bryant’s pending divorce settlement of up to $75 million with wife Vanessa, his recent purchase proves he still has plenty of cash to flush on luxury toys.
According to TMZ, Kobe’s new ride is a Ferrari 458 Italia, arguably making the one-time rape suspect the coolest guy on the Laker’s lineup.
“We’re told the Black Mamba paid $329,000 yesterday for the car … which he paid for in full with a check,” TMZ reported.
The car “represents one of the largest leaps forward in technology, performance and emissions ever seen from” Ferrari, according to Motor Authority. The 4.5 liter V-8 engine produces 570 horsepower that allows the car to go from zero to 60 in less than 3.4 seconds and topping out at 202 mph.
Kobe’s car collection already included Bentley’s, Range Rovers and even a Ferrari F430.
The retail price of Bryant’s newest vehicle is $230,275. The Laker superstar apparently settles for nothing but the best, even if that means dropping an additional $100,000.
“Kobe’s salary for the season is roughly $25 million, so for him … this is like buying a used Honda,” said TMZ.
