Actress Alicia Silverstone may be on her way to redefining the “Clueless” genre with a YouTube video showing her chewing her child’s food and feeding it to him mouth-to-mouth.

Silverstone posted a video on her website TheKindLife.com showing her chewing a Japanese rice cake and feeding the remains to her son Bear Blue.

Bear, the 11-month-old child, appears to actually like eating chewed-up food from his mother’s mouth.

“He literally crawls across the room to attack my mouth if I’m eating,” Silverstone wrote on her website.

Isn’t that what a real bear does?

The New York Daily News reported that “premastication” — the act of chewing food in order to feed a weaning child — is an ancient tradition that isn’t actually productive.

A study conducted by Cornell University researchers in 2010 found that the practice “has placed children at increased risk of inadequate nutrition and decreased ability to confront infections associated with the introduction of complementary foods.”

And that’s aside from the result being completely gross.
