New York Republican congressional candidate Matthew Doheny was focused on more than just his campaign last week.

He came to Washington, D.C. for a candidate retreat along with 14 other GOP hopefuls, to be groomed for the upcoming election. But while he was in town, he was photographed kissing campaign consultant Monica Notzan. His fiancée Mary Reidy was nowhere in sight.

After the pictures appeared on Gawker.com, the Doheny campaign responded with a press release dismissing the pictures as showing nothing more than “two old friends joking,” and saying that the blogger who initially posted the pictures was playing “right into the hands of Democratic operatives.”

But then the New York Post published video of Doheny fondling Notzan — the woman he was photographed kissing.

Doheny may now join Anthony Weiner, Vito Fossella, Chris Lee and Erik Massa in the list of New York politicians who have landed in the soup over their habits with the fairer sex. After the still picture first hit the Internet, Doheny’s fiancee issued a statement saying she was sticking by his side and was looking forward to their June nuptials.

She hasn’t publicly said anything further since the Post published its video.

This article was updated after publication to clarify that it was Notzan, not a different woman, whose rear end Doheny is seen rubbing on the New York Post video.
