Who offers hope to those who want to escape dependency on government assistance for a new life of self-respect and independence? Star Parker does.

On welfare and the recipient of numerous abortions, Parker says she once “lived the liberal lie.” With help, she turned her life around. Today, she is a dynamic and successful conservative leader and mother.

Parker’s organization, the Center for Urban Renewal and Education, offers market-based public policy solutions. In 2010, she ran unsuccessfully for Congress in in California’s 37th Congressional District. An author and speaker who frequently appears on television, Parker also pens a weekly syndicated column.

The Daily Caller’s Ginni Thomas recently sat down with Parker to discuss where she sees hope, her suggestions for Republican outreach, the Trayvon Martin controversy and her critique of President Obama.
