These days, you don’t have to actually do anything to become famous. All you have to do is become a ubiquitous presence in the media for drinking too much, having poofy hair and creating a reality show to get married (and then get divorced), like Snooki or Kim Kardashian. And South Carolina Republican Gov. Nikki Haley is following in their stilleto heel footsteps, according to the state’s Democratic Party.

“Nikki Haley has spent more time in the last month outside the state traveling with Mitt Romney and appearing on national television programs promoting herself than she has on promoting jobs for south Carolinians or meeting with the Republican legislature to pass meaningful tax reform,” said the South Carolina Democratic Party in a Thursday press release.

“Only 18 months in office and she has already written her biography,” it continues. “It used to be that only people who accomplished something significant had biographies written, but in the age of Snooki and Kardashian celebrities it should be no surprise Nikki Haley draws some national curiosity.”

The press release accompanied the debut of a Web video showing Haley’s national media appearances as Carly Simon’s “You’re So Vain” plays in the background.

Haley spokesman Rob Godfrey called the comments “Disrespectful but unsurprising.”

According to the Governor’s schedule, she has only spent 4.5 days outside of South Carolina over the course of the past month.

The Governor’s book, “Can’t is Not an Option,” was released earlier this week.
