1.) The Axis of Evil is still at it, even after all these years — Though one of its members has been eliminated, the two remaining members of the Axis of Evil are still up to no good, TheDC’s Will Rahn writes:
“Twelve Iranian officials were on hand to witness the failed rocket test in North Korea last week, South Korea’s Yonhap news agency reports. According to Yonhap, a ‘diplomatic source’ informed the news agency that a dozen officials from the Shadid Hemmat Industrial Group, the organization responsible for Iran’s ballistic missile programs, were in North Korea to view the launch.”
Some people keep it real. Others keep it evil.
2.) Cheney’s back — So soon after having a heart transplant, former Vice President Dick Cheney is back on the speaker’s circuit, the AP reports:
“Former Vice President Dick Cheney walked onstage without any assistance and spoke for an hour and 15 minutes without seeming to tire in his first public engagement since he underwent a heart transplant three weeks ago. Cheney’s heart transplant in Virginia on March 24 initially canceled his trip to the state party convention but he got last-minute medical clearance to go. ‘I’m not running any foot races yet but it won’t be long,’ he said.”
God speed Mr. Vice President.
3.) The anti-Churchill — A British member of parliament had some nice words to say about President Barack Obama and former President George W. Bush while in Pakistan, TheDC’s Jamie Weinstein (ME!) reports:
“British Lord Nazir Ahmed put a £10 million ($16 million) bounty on both President Barack Obama and former President George W. Bush Friday, according to The Express Tribune, an English language Pakistani newspaper … ‘If the U.S. can announce a reward of $10 million for the captor of Hafiz Saeed, I can announce a bounty of 10 million pounds on President Obama and his predecessor George Bush,’ Nazir reportedly said. Saeed is widely believed to be the head of the Pakistani based terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba, which was responsible for the 2008 attacks in Mumbai, India that killed more than 160 innocents including six Americans.”
Does putting a bounty out on the American president qualify one for the drone list?
4.) When in trouble, blame the messenger — TheDC’s Matt Boyle reports on a sexual harassment scandal in North Carolina in which The Daily Caller is being blamed for a Democratic leader’s downfall:
“North Carolina Democratic Party executive director Jay Parmley resigned Sunday in the wake of allegations that he sexually harassed one of his former communications staffers … In his resignation letter, Parmley denied the sexual harassment allegations and blamed TheDC for tying the alleged incident to him. ‘As you know last Friday, Tucker Carlson’s right-wing blog Daily Caller and Art Pope’s Civitas Institute began spreading a false and misleading story about a supposed incident of harassment at the NCDP,’ Parmley wrote.”
