Illinois Republican Rep. Joe Walsh and his ex-wife may not agree on much, but as of Thursday they do agree that Walsh is not and never was a “deadbeat dad.”

Laura Walsh had previously alleged that her ex-husband owed her upward of $117,000 in child support, but the two have now reached an arrangement, the congressman’s lawyer confirmed to Crain’s Chicago Business.

It remains unclear if there was a financial settlement involved; Walsh will announce the details of the deal at a press conference Thursday afternoon.

The campaign posted a joint statement Thursday saying that the two had resolved their differences.

“We both regret this public misunderstanding and the effect it has had on our children,” they said. “Like many families, we have had our share of issues and made our share of mistakes over the years.” (SEE ALSO: Ex-wife sues Walsh, says he gave money to campaign, took foreign vacations with lover and avoided child support)

The statement continued: “Having resolved these issues together and cleared up these mistakes in private, we now agree that Joe is not and was not a ‘deadbeat dad’ and does not owe child support. We both have been loving and devoted parents to our children, ages 24, 21, and 17, and are happy to avoid a public legal fight hurtful to our entire family and look forward to caring for our children in private.”
