Editor’s notebook: The worst freelance submission ever

Rule number one of journalism is that if you want to see your name in print and you can’t write well, you’d better at least be entertaining.

The Daily Caller receives dozens of unsolicited submissions every week — some intended for our opinion page, others pitched as news articles. But occasionally we get one that occupies that strange nether region between structured paragraphs and unstructured insanity, a zone commonly called journalistic malpractice.

Filled with typos, run-on sentences, and stream-of-consciousness psychobabble, these emails are prima facie evidence that some self-styled writers would be better served embracing a career in the street sweeping arts and sciences.

This is not a put-on. We actually received this submission. We’ve omitted the name of the “author” to spare his family members.

Hi daily caller.

Iam a budding writer who has written an artical about the 2012 mitt romney election campaign and would like to see what you think about it, and if it has the potential to be accepted for your blog.

Any feed back would be mutch appreciated. (see attachment)

We  Need to Talk  about  Mitt.

Why carn`t mitt clinch the deal ,well  Mitt i think its time to come clean and tell the public what you are all about stop the pretending  stop the act just be your self own who you are Mitt Romney the Mr fix-it the guy who gets thing done cleans up the mess weather it’s the salt lake city  winter Olympics  getting  massachusetts back in surplus  or fixing multinational companies from going broke.

You need to say i`am mitt Romney and iam not going to be everything you want ,not going to be everything to everybody i can not .Yes iam a mormon and to some of you folk that’s not great and to others  iam just not conservative enough for your liking iam wealthy and I shouldnt have to apologise for that in the usa.

You need to own you achievements and your faults and explain that  people are not voting for a mormon  or a R I N O as some people accuse you of being there voting for a fiscal conservative.

The problem why your not connecting with the republican base is that they  just don’t know what you stand for and who you are so better to tell people what they will get if you become the republican nominee and that’s a guy who can fix the mess that America finds its self in  Mr fix-it  that’s what you do better than the other candidates and president obama put together.

Own the Massachusetts  healthcare say it was the right thing for massachusetts at the time but not for the whole country in 2012, As the rolling stone song goes, you carnt always get what you want but if you try sometimes you might just find you get what you need, and what America needs first and fore-most is a guy who can stop the spending pay off the trillions , balance the budget and get a surplus  mitt Romney is that man and all the other things are just details.

If obama gets another four years the debt will be twenty trillion America will still be spending more than it makes and Greece will be just around the corner.

Everybody knows that mitt is the only guy who can beat president obama so lets stop playing games and get it done  bite the bullet and and pull together for the good of the country.

With the right vice presidential nomine and we all know who that should be ( marco rubio)Romney has a real chance to win the white house on the six november 2012 and the last four years can be resigned to history and America can start to rebuild and get back on the right track.

If the conservative base  who think Romney not acceptable enough , think that all they have to do is wait out obama to leave the white house in 2016 and they will win as a given and have there acceptable  candidate as the nomination need to think again .with the economy  far better in four years the afghanistan  war over gitmo closed the middle east having settled down the issues that they have to fight an election on being far less than now.

With the advent of c-pacs  and big money that will be a permanent feature in  nomination battles in the future there is a very good chance that the guy that can win the election in 2016 wont have the money to win the nomination  and the republican nominee will be unelectable to the majority of the country.

So to all the voters who will cast there vote in forth coming republican races ,think about this if mitt Romney is not palatable enough for you the bad taste  that will be left in the mouth after obama finishes  his second term will  be very very hard to swallow indeed ,it`s up to you.

If you’ve just read your own work, please know that you’ve provided a valuable service to others who might tread the same ground.

We must respectfully decline this submission. But hey — there’s always HuffPo.
