Another stunning success for the diplomatic diplomats at the State Department

NY Post:

A Brazilian prostitute injured last year in a scuffle with a U.S. Embassy staffer and two Marines is now suing the federal government — a development in the aftermath of the Secret Service prostitution scandal in Columbia.

The incident occurred in late 2011 in the city of Brasilia when at least one of the Americans pushed the woman from a car outside of a nightclub.

The Embassy tracked down the women and paid her medical bills, but she now intends to sue, a senior U.S. official has confirmed to Fox News.

But according to CBS News:

The State Department is disputing a Pentagon account that three Marines and an employee of the U.S. Embassy in Brazil were disciplined after pushing a prostitute out of a car late last year in Brasilia.

Rather, the department said Wednesday the woman involved in the December incident tried to open a door and climb into the moving car. Spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said the woman fell and was injured. She said no charges were filed against the four Americans but all have left Brazil.

“All of the embassy personnel were interviewed by the Brazilian civilian police. We have also conducted our own investigation into the incident and we have taken all the appropriate steps regarding the individuals involved.”

Ah. So according to the State Department, there was a perfectly good explanation. All proper procedures were followed, all appropriate steps were taken, a thorough investigation was conducted, and none of their people are at fault.

Sounds plausible enough.

It’s pretty easy to decide which one’s telling the truth. I mean, she’s a Brazilian hooker. It’s not like she works for the State Department.
